Terms of service
Last updated: October 13, 2026
These terms apply to the GearCheck app for Android ("GearCheck", "the app") and this website, offered by Yubal Torres ("we", "us"). By using GearCheck, you agree to them.
Using GearCheck
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use GearCheck on devices you own or control, under these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. Please don't copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app, or use it to break the law.
Free and Pro
GearCheck is free to use with some limits. GearCheck Pro is an optional subscription that removes those limits and adds features. The current plans are shown in the app before you subscribe. We may change features and limits over time.
If your Pro subscription ends, nothing you created is locked or deleted: you can still view, edit and use it. Only creating more than the Free limits and the Pro-only features stop until you subscribe again.
Subscriptions and payments
- Pro is sold through Google Play and charged to your Google account, monthly or yearly.
- It renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions); you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- If a free trial is offered and you're eligible, you won't be charged during the trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and you're charged.
- Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy. If a price changes, Google Play lets you know first.
- Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies. If something went wrong with a purchase, write to us and we'll help.
Your data
How GearCheck handles your data is described in the privacy policy. Keep backups of anything important: we can't recover data that's lost or deleted from your device.
No guarantees
GearCheck helps you remember your gear, but you're still responsible for it. The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't guarantee it will be free of errors or always available, or that reminders will always arrive on time, since Android may delay or block them.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost, forgotten or damaged equipment, missed or failed shoots, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim related to GearCheck is limited to what you paid for GearCheck Pro in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update GearCheck and these terms. If the terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top; using GearCheck after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. Nothing in them limits the rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
